A key development is that from being seen as ‘liberal and wishy washy’, policy makers have grasped that food matters. Food related diseases are known to be one of society’s top three problems so good school nutrition is now viewed as a making important economic and social sense.

 

Challenges remain but, with freshly prepared food now the norm and school chefs sharing recipes on twitter to the UK being seen as international exemplar of best practice, the report concluded that England’s come a long way since turkey twizzlers.
