FDF launches hotline for SME’s

THE FOOD and Drink Federation has launched a free advice line to help small and medium-sized food and drink businesses.

The hotline will be available to any UK-based food and drink manufacturing company regardless of whether or not they are a member of FDF, the membership association for the industry. All enquiries will be free and the only cost for callers will be their own call charges to the non-premium rate number.

FDF can provide advice on a wide range of topics including food safety; labelling and allergens; nutrition; sustainable sourcing; packaging; energy efficiency; trade issues and exports. In cases where FDF is unable to help directly, advisers can sign-post callers to other sources of help such as Open to Export or to FDF’s wide range of professional affiliates which include tax specialists; trainers and legal experts.

To reach the new hotline, phone 020 7420 7110 from 09:30 to 17:30, Monday to Friday. Alternatively, SMEs can email [email protected] and FDF aims to answer all enquiries within 48 hours.

FDF’s Director of Economic and Commercial Services Steve Barnes said:

“Food and drink manufacturing is fast-paced and it’s essential that businesses can access good-quality advice that keeps their practices and products up to date and competitive. SMEs have a vital role to play in Britain’s economic growth so FDF is pleased to offer the new hotline as a service to all UK food and drink manufacturing SMEs.”
