Chef Marcus Wareing, Busaba Eathai and Las Iguanas are also backing the “Culinary kids” campaign to offer a wider variety of healthy options on children’s menus.

Healthy children’s options were found to be an important factor in dictating restaurant choice, with 59% of parents choosing a restaurant for their children on the basis of healthy food options.

However, whilst effort is put into making enticing and imaginative adult dishes, 78% of parents believe the limited range and lack of imagination for children’s menus was an issue, with the same unhealthy options like pizza and chicken nuggets appearing on most menus.

To make children’s experiences more exciting, Bookatable.co.uk has joined forces with Marcus Wareing’s Tredwell’s restaurant to offer a special Kids Tasting Menu.

The news follows a campaign launched last month by the Jamie Oliver Restaurant Group to introduce a 10p sugar tax on sugary drinks.
