Coca-Cola Enterprises bring recycling fun to Scottish festival goers

COCA-COLA Enterprises this month launched its Happiness Recycled initiative at RockNess and the Royal Highland Show.

As part of the initiative visitors to the Scottish events were invited to test their shooting accurancy in a basketball challenge and treated to ‘flash mob’ performances from the CCE cheerleading troupe, congratulating them on their recycling success.

Consumers taking part had their reactions captured on camera, which were available to the festival goers from the ‘Happiness Bank’ – a converted shipping container.

The new campaign aims to make recycling ‘more fun’ and to ‘encourage more people to make greener choices’.
Nick Brown, Associate Director for Recycling, Coca-Cola Enterprises, said: “The Happiness Recycled activities have proved very popular with Scottish festival goers. The campaign was designed to make consumers feel good about recycling, and we hope this provides an incentive to recycle more in the future, both while on the go and at home. CCE is working hard to boost recycling rates across GB, including doing all we can to support the Scottish Government in its ambitious target of recycling 50 per cent of waste from households by 2013.”
